Location: Globe Street, London SE1
Lead Pimpers: Amber Arnold and Richard Reynolds
First planted: 13 June 2011
Description: This splendid tree pit sits on it’s own traffic island at the end of the Globe Street cul de sac, a deep and wide canvas in which Amber had ambitions to plant a herb garden. She’s an old friend who lives a minute away from here and asked for some help getting it started. On a very wet June afternoon she got together with friends and locals to fill it with fresh soil and compost and plant up with an assortment including fennel, sage and marjoram. It has thrived since.
