Location: Borough Road, London SE1
Lead Pimpers: Richard Reynolds
First planted: 23 April 2010
Description: At the cross roads of Borough Road and Southwark Bridge Road stands this young tree in a decent sized tree pit. We first planted here as part of a St George’s Day guerrilla gardening dig that spilled over from the nearby mature guerrilla garden at St George’s Circus. The planting was patriotically red verbena and white margueritte’s as well as marjoram and sunflowers. It has subsequently been planted with red tulips, red petunias in 2011 and more recently with red, white and blue petunias thanks to the help of the Borough Belles WI group.
